Bronze Amida Nyorai Buddha Seated Atop Shishi #1734

With sutra scroll in right hand, the Amida Nyorai sits atop the lion dog. The muted shades of lacquer bring a serenity and softness to the bronze statue. The Buddha is held in place by a prong that extends into the shishi's body. It appears that the patina was scratched (purposely?) on the shishi's body. Weighs unpacked 9 pounds 12 ounces. Dates early 20th century.
