Japanese Sewing Box, Haribako #1438

Made of keyaki and 6 burl drawer fronts is this haribako, or sewing box. The extended arm held the pincushion in the flip top box and the arm also has a slot for the ruler. It is missing the pincushion and ruler. The pincushion box's lid has a slight warp but works well. There is a very small amount of oxidation on the hinge. This haribako is sturdy and attractive and dates circa 1920.
